Director K.S.Ravikumar who is considered as the producers'
director is celebrating his birthday today. Ravikumar who has worked with many superstars in Tamil and Telugu film industries is currently busy shooting 'Lingaa' his third film with Supertar Rajinikanth. It is to be noted that he is also a favorite of Kamal Haasan and has directed the 'Ulaganayagan' in five super hit films.
Ravikumar's debut directorial venture was 'Puriyadha Pudhir' which was a nail biting thriller. His association with Sarathkumar was considered as one of the highly successful pairs of the 1990's thanks to the stupendous success of films like 'Cheran Pandiyan, 'Nattamai' and 'Natpukkaga'. He went on to direct almost all the stars and popular heroes of the 1990's like Vijaykanth, Sathyaraj, Prabhu, Karthik, Arjun and others. In the new millennium he paired up with the next generation stars like Ajith, Vijay and Suriya. His teaming up with Ajith has been highly successful.
Ravikumar is popular known for the remarkable speed in which he finishes a film which is the result of his unimaginable hard work. As a busy director in Tamil as well as Telugu, Ravikumar has churned out five films in 1999 that included the blockbuster films 'Padaiyappa' and 'Natpukkaaga'.
Ravikumar makes it a point to appear in a cameo role in all the films he has directed so far. This bagged him character and comedy roles in other director's film as well. Ravikumar has also been a successful producer.
